This policy explains what personal data Wizebirds Ltd collects, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have. It is written to be clear and plain. If anything is unclear, please contact us.
1. Who we are
Wizebirds Ltd ("Wizebirds", "we", "us", "our") is a company registered in England and Wales. Our registered address is 33/84 South Grove, London E17 7FG, United Kingdom. We provide a suite of tools for founders and businesses, including Wizebirds Shield (trademark and brand monitoring), Wizebirds Scout (competitor advertising monitoring), Wizebirds Craft (AI-assisted content creation), and Wizebirds Raise (investor matching, currently in development). We are the "controller" of the personal data described in this policy.

2. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of personal data:
- Account information: your name, email address, and (optionally) company name, created when you sign up or log in (including via Google sign-in).
- Shield data you provide: the trademark(s) you ask us to monitor, application and registration numbers, classes, jurisdictions, your business website and description, and any keywords you add.
- Scout data you provide: the competitors, brands, or advertisers you ask us to monitor. Scout analyses publicly available advertising data (such as public ad libraries) relating to those competitors.
- Craft data you provide: your brand name and description, tone and voice settings, content preferences and rules, and the credentials or access tokens for any content management system (such as Sanity or Shopify) you connect so we can deliver content to it. Craft also stores the content it generates for you.
- Payment information: when you subscribe, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card details; we receive limited billing information (such as subscription status and the last four digits of your card) from Stripe.
- Communications: messages you send us (for example via our contact or support forms), email correspondence, and any product waitlist you join.
- Usage and device data: information about how you use our website and app, collected via analytics and similar technologies (see “Cookies and analytics” below), such as pages viewed, approximate location, browser and device type.
3. How we use your information and our legal bases
We use your personal data for the following purposes, relying on the following legal bases under the UK GDPR:
- To provide the services: creating your account, running the products you subscribe to (trademark monitoring and conflict detection, competitor ad monitoring, and content generation and delivery), and sending you reports, drafts, and alerts. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- To take payment and manage subscriptions. Legal basis: performance of our contract, and compliance with our legal obligations.
- To respond to your enquiries and provide support. Legal basis: our legitimate interests in assisting you, and performance of our contract.
- To send service and (where you have opted in) marketing communications. Legal basis: your consent for marketing, and our legitimate interests for essential service messages. You can unsubscribe from marketing at any time.
- To improve, secure, and analyse our service. Legal basis: your consent (for non-essential analytics cookies) and our legitimate interests in operating a safe, reliable product.
- To comply with legal obligations and to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. Legal basis: compliance with legal obligations and our legitimate interests.
4. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to run our website and, with your consent, to understand how it is used. Non-essential analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics) are only set after you accept them via our cookie banner, and we use Google Consent Mode so nothing non-essential loads until you do. 5. How we share your information
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with trusted service providers ("processors") who help us run Wizebirds, and only as needed to provide the service:
- Stripe: payment processing and subscription management.
- Supabase: database hosting and authentication.
- Vercel: application and website hosting.
- Resend: sending transactional and marketing emails.
- Sanity: content management for our website copy.
- Anthropic: AI processing used by Wizebirds Craft to generate content.
- Google: Gemini AI as a fallback content-generation provider for Craft, and Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager) for website analytics, subject to your cookie consent.
- Cloudflare: bot and abuse protection on our forms.
We may also disclose information where required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Wizebirds, our users, or others. If our business is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction.
6. International data transfers
Some of our providers may process data outside the United Kingdom. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement (or equivalent standard contractual clauses) to protect it.
7. How long we keep your information
We keep your personal data for as long as you have an account with us and for as long as needed to provide the service. After you close your account, we retain data only as long as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to: access your personal data; correct inaccurate data; erase your data; restrict or object to certain processing; data portability; and withdraw consent at any time (without affecting processing already carried out). You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, though we’d appreciate the chance to help first.
9. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and use of reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to promptly address any issues.
10. Third-party links
Our website may link to third-party sites we do not control. This policy does not apply to those sites, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.
11. Children
Our service is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of Wizebirds after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
